With our core businesses in construction and real estate leasing, and as a market leader in wooden rental apartment complexes in particular, the Group uses more than 200 materials to build a single house or building and does business with around 170 suppliers. We are promoting measures to strengthen the sustainability of our supply chains, centered around the Technical Development Department, which oversees material development, purchasing, and environmental initiatives.
Sustainable Procurement Policy
With the goal to build sustainable relationships with stakeholders, we formulated the Daito Group Sustainable Procurement Policy in October 2022. In addition to our existing procurement policy, this policy specifically defines a wide range of items, such as respect for human rights and consideration for the environment. We make sure that all suppliers are aware of this policy through the Supplier ビンゴ5当選番号 Meeting and other means.

The Daito Group initiated measures to strengthen supply chain ビンゴ5当選番号 in FY2022 in order to promote procurement based on our Sustainable Procurement Policy. Through these measures, we will reduce the potential risks of various environmental and social issues in the supply chain, leading to the provision of safe and reliable products and services.
Introduction of EcoVadis's ビンゴ5当選番号 Assessment System
Our conventional approach to supplier assessment using supplier self-assessment questionnaires (SAQs) placed additional workload on suppliers, sometimes resulted in no feedback even after responses were received, and made it difficult to objectively assess risk. To resolve these issues, in 2022 we became the first company in Japan's construction industry to introduce EcoVadis's ビンゴ5当選番号 assessment system*. By providing support, such as holding seminars for suppliers and reimbursing costs for small suppliers, we have seen the response rate and the average score improve year by year. This initiative has been highly praised externally, as we received the Excellence Award at the 24th Green Purchasing Awards and have been selected as Leader, the highest rating, for the third consecutive year in the CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment.
* An assessment system provided by the French company EcoVadis, used by over 150,000 companies in 185 countries and 250 industries worldwide. The system comprehensively verifies and assesses the four areas essential to a company's supply chain ビンゴ5当選番号—environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable material procurement—based on global standards. This results in highly objective, reliable, and comparable assessment results.

Suppliers ビンゴ5当選番号 Meeting
Every year, we hold the Suppliers ビンゴ5当選番号 Meeting with the goal of strengthening partnerships with our suppliers. At the meeting, we explain our policies and initiatives to companies involved in the development, supply, and delivery of materials for our construction projects, with the aim of building rapport. As part of the meeting, we award suppliers that have made significant contributions in areas such as logistics improvement, environmental response, BCP measures, and technical development. We also explain and inform our suppliers about our environmental considerations and efforts to respect human rights, based on our Sustainable Procurement Policy.
Supplier Engagement
The Group actively engages with suppliers to ensure compliance with our Sustainable Procurement Policy and encourages them to respond to the EcoVadis assessment system. To improve our suppliers' ビンゴ5当選番号 knowledge, we hold seminars on ビンゴ5当選番号-related topics once or twice a year.

Additionally, to encourage suppliers to work on sustainability, we established the Green Supplier Awards in FY2023. At the annual Suppliers ビンゴ5当選番号 Meeting, we recognize outstanding companies (one company each from the large and small/medium-sized enterprise categories) based on the results of the EcoVadis assessment.
Lumber Procurement Policy
As one of our core businesses is the provision of wooden rental apartment buildings, sustainable lumber procurement is one of our material issues. To that end, in September 2023, we revised the Daito Group Lumber Procurement Policy with the aim of achieving zero deforestation. We are procuring lumber in line with this policy, with the aim of achieving a 100% ratio of sustainable lumber procurement by 2025. To confirm compliance with our Lumber Procurement Policy, we conduct annual due diligence on suppliers of lumber and lumber products.

Lumber Due Diligence
In order to confirm compliance with our Lumber Procurement Policy, we have worked with experts to create a manual that specifies lumber due diligence methods. We monitor compliance through annual due diligence, consisting of four steps. Lumber that is judged to be low risk in each process from the three perspectives of legality, social ビンゴ5当選番号, and environmental ビンゴ5当選番号 set out in our Lumber Procurement Policy is defined as "sustainable lumber" that complies with the policy.

Supplier understanding and cooperation are essential for due diligence. For this reason, we hold lumber procurement seminars to explain our Lumber Procurement Policy and have external speakers explain the risks associated with lumber, thereby improving supplier understanding. We also continually conduct individual interviews with each supplier, leading to appropriate engagement.
Declaration of Partnership Building
Aiming to build sustainable relationships with business partners in the supply chain, the Group* endorses the aims of the Council for the Promotion of Partnership Building for the Future, which is administered by the Cabinet Office, the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency, and others. As part of this, we have formulated and published the Declaration on Partnership Building.
