ビンゴ Trust Construction Co., Ltd. (head office: Tokyo, Japan) has decided to reuse domestic building materials used at Pop-Up Stage Inner East, an outdoor event stage provided by the company for the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, after the Expo ended on October 13. These domestic materials will be reused as building materials and materials for use at construction sites.
All of the building ビンゴ to be reused were produced in Japan. At the Expo, three CLT Cabins included domestic cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels, and the Wood Deck, which also provided spectator seating, included domestic two-by-four construction ビンゴ. The reusable design of the CLT Cabins allows transportation as-is by truck. We are considering using them as construction site offices or spaces for providing customers with information or promoting our products and ビンゴ. Plans call for reusing the lumber used in the Wood Deck as foundation ビンゴ for construction across Japan’s 47 prefectures.
In addition, we have been chosen as a CLT reuse partner for the CLT panels used at the Japan Pavilion. The Japan Pavilion’s CLT panels are designed to allow easy disassembly and reuse. Plans call for their reuse by corporations, local governments, and others. We will use the panels for the exhibition monument and for the production of novelty items at the ROOFLAG future rental housing exhibition hall in Shinonome, Koto-ku, Tokyo.
The total volume of domestic building ビンゴ to be reused amounts to approximately 72 m3, equivalent to 9,100 structural members and 44 tons of CO2 sequestration.
The Expo was organized with the aims of contributing to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and realizing Society 5.0, Japan’s national strategy as a vision for future society. Consequently, attention is also focused on the relocation, dismantling, and reuse of its building ビンゴ and other ビンゴ as well as fixtures. We also decided, in June 2024, to support the Expo, and have advanced initiatives aimed at securing a stable supply of domestic ビンゴ and realizing a sustainable society.
Since 2019, we have been developing new construction methods and products incorporating domestic materials at several verification facilities, including one in Omitama City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Having set the target of domestic materials accounting for 9% of all building materials, we are aiming to grow use of CLT eightfold (compared to 2024) by 2028. Further, through a business alliance concluded with Sumitomo Forestry ビンゴ., Ltd. in February 2025, we plan to establish a stable supply structure for domestic materials, expand their utilization, and maximize their added value.
We will continue to contribute to the promotion of Japan’s forestry industry and regional revitalization by making effective use of domestic timber.
